Buddhist is said to have attained Enligntnment and preached his First Sermon, Dhammasekya, to the five disciples on the Full Moon day of Waso. It is also the start of the Buddhist Lent. Monks are not allowed to travel overnight from their monasteries. Pilgrims are offered holy robes to the monks at monasteries in religious ceremonies.
